The room is located next to the SPA, other than the odd door slamming we had no issues. We booked a Superior room and was allocated room 103 with a walk-in shower. The one redeeming feature of the Rive Droite is the kindness of its female staff but, the lift episode aside, it is by no stretch of the imagination a four-star hotel.…īeautiful hotel located within walking distance of the main church. It is impossible to trust hotel management that denies its responsibilities to its guests. Then, to add insult to injury his parting words were, ‘I hope you won’t give us a bad review’. He argued bizarrely that the lift episode was the responsibility of the lift company and not the hotel. At check out, the manager made no offer to reduce our bill, but finally and grudgingly took off the price of our breakfasts. On two occasions, our door keys did not function, so there was more walking up and down. There was no offer of a room on a lower floor. Thereafter, for obvious reasons, we climbed (slowly) the five floors to our room for the rest of our stay. There was no evidence of an emergency procedure to respond to this situation. I suffer from claustrophobia my wife has a heart condition. On the first night of a short stay, my wife and I were trapped between floors in Rive Droite’s small four-person lift for over an hour and a half.
